The Five Elements Project aims to create a new awareness of climate change by exposing viewers to a different perspective: the vision of artists communicating on a profound, transformative level.

The Idea
Human civilization, which brought ideas into the world, is now facing far-reaching climate change. Ideas, the source of everything from innovation and faith to conflict and justice, became the fifth element in the ancient Greek system of thought after fire, air, water, and earth. Ideas have set climate change in motion, and ideas, perhaps, can stop it.

The Artists
Artists are among the most prolific generators of ideas, shaking up conventional thought throughout all of human history. The Five Elements Project will create a feature film in which artists—the idea—examine climate change—the first four elements—and shift our consciousness.

The Film
The Five Elements Project brings ten idea-makers to one film. Five artists will partner with climate change experts from the fields of journalism, science, activism, design, and faith. The feature film, comprising five short films created by the artists and framed by footage of their interactions with the experts, will probe how ideas can recreate our world at a time of global crisis.
